Who We Are
We're Jellyvision, and we make ALEX. And now, MyALEXHealth. You may be wondering…

What’s a Jellyvision?
Jellyvision is an award‑winning, Chicago‑based tech company that has spent 20 years turning “I don’t get it” moments into confident decisions about money, health, and benefits. Through our conversational platform, ALEX, we give people unbiased, transparent, human guidance when the stakes are highest.
Our Values
Simplicity
We transform the overwhelming and confusing world of Medicare into a stress-free experience that breaks down complex terms and options into clear, actionable steps.
Clarity
We understand the emotional and mental weight of making healthcare decisions, offering compassionate support that helps alleviate anxiety and builds confidence during the decision-making process.
Joy
We are eager to provide the best experience possible, embracing joy and refusing to be boring out of respect for your furrowed brow.
What's ALEX?
ALEX is our interactive, plain‑spoken digital guide—and the nation’s most trusted employee communication platform. By leading employees, retirees, and caregivers through insurance, Medicare, retirement, and other financial choices one clear question at a time, ALEX turns complexity into confident, healthier, more secure decisions.

Why Medicare?
Meet Lorna.
Not too long ago, a woman named Lorna became eligible for Medicare and she quickly realized that enrolling in Medicare…is A LOT. Lorna turned to her adult daughter for help figuring it all out and luckily for Lorna—and all of us—her daughter, Amanda, is the CEO of Jellyvision.
When Amanda experienced firsthand how much difficulty and confusion is baked into Medicare, she knew that Jellyvision was uniquely positioned to tackle it head on. And with that, Lorna’s experience became our blueprint. We took the interactive guidance engine behind ALEX and built MyALEXHealth, a version crafted exclusively for the complexities of Medicare.

What's our history?
Thanks for asking. We’re not new kids on the block. With a long, storied history dating back to 1989, we’ve been an educational film company, then an educational software company, then a gaming company that created hits like YOU DON’T KNOW JACK and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on these things called CD-ROMs.
But when the internet happened, we knew we wanted to evolve from creating virtual game shows hosts to virtual advisors, to help people trying to navigate complicated, boring, but important things online and to “talk them through it.” On the flip side of this century, we spent 10 years as a digital agency, learning how to build trust and explain a wide array of topics for corporate partners. But since about 2010, we’ve been all ALEX, all the time.

You want more on the people behind the company?
But of course. Jellyvision has hundreds of employees living all over the country, though we're headquartered in Illinois. We only hire humble, hardworking, and uniquely, deeply talented people who are galvanized by our purpose of "be helpful", and can bring that to bear in service of our users, partners, and colleagues alike.
We’ve won all kinds of awards, and even have our own band. But perhaps our greatest reward, besides actually helping people for a living, is that we get to do work we're proud of with people we like and respect. For those reasons, we take our work very, very seriously. But ourselves? Not so much, thank you.
Meet the Medicare team

Amanda
CEO
Amanda has been a huge part of Jellyvision's success since 2011. She wanted to tackle Medicare after seeing that even simple things are hard—like "how poorly named it is. A, B, C, and D don't tell me anything about what they are and whether someone needs them." Amanda is an active mentor and board member, dedicated to expanding access to careers in tech.

John
Director
John is a "glass half full" person, and bringing joy to others by simplifying a complex topic like Medicare really excites him. He's also a serious dog lover and supports rescues in the city of Chicago. John enjoys traveling, experiencing new cultures, and tasting different foods—which might explain why he's eternally on a quest for the best street taco.

Katie
Director
Katie has found it surprisingly addictive to learn about Medicare, and was shocked to learn about the lifetime penalties for missing enrollment periods—yikes! Outside of Jellyvision, she's an accomplished ceramicist with work featured in Business Insider. She grew up in rural NW Pennsylvania, where she developed a talent for getting cars unstuck from ice and snow.

Betsy
Product Owner
Betsy is a self-proclaimed “relentless optimist” who believes Medicare deserves to be the hero of its own story, and that everyone deserves a simple way to find coverage that fits their life. She hails from Chicagoland and loves art, spicy food, and adventures with her kiddos.

Dan
Engineer
Dan was inspired to bring simplicity and clarity to Medicare after seeing that it's no easy feat to understand, even for trained professionals. Dan has many loves including coffee, history, his cat named Lulu, and wearing black t-shirts. He also loves food (though not applesauce), and has even worked as a server in fine dining restaurants around Chicago.

David
Engineer
Bringing clarity to the complex web of Medicare rules and regulations is what motivates Dave to come to work every day. He also loves to cook, and plans to learn many more delicious and healthy recipes to make for his family. Dave is a dedicated member of his parish in the Orthodox Church of America, and is a bell ringer at weekly services.

Kendra
Senior Marketing Manager
Kendra knows most people don’t get out of bed in the morning excited to shop for health insurance. But as a marketer, she believes that getting the right information to someone at the right time can help make those unexciting decisions a little easier. Outside of work, she can be found exploring Chicago’s bookstores and restaurants, or planning her next themed dinner party.

Paula
Designer
Paula's work is informed by her belief that simplicity and joy are intertwined. She's determined to simplify Medicare so that people can find the plan that's right for them without stress. She's also passionate about supporting children in the foster care system. She can often be found singing karaoke or indulging in 85% dark chocolate (her definition of joy).

Sam
Data Scientist
As an economist who's deeply interested in healthcare and policy, Sam was surprised to learn that Medicare not only pays for healthcare for a lot of people, but is also the largest single source of funding for medical residency programs. In his free time, he channels his love of cooking into hosting multi-course dinner parties and honing his culinary skills.

Tram
UX Engineer
Tram loves building beautiful and accessible experiences that guide people through some of the most important decisions in their lives. There are a million ways to help people navigate Medicare. She wants to know, “What’s the best way to do that—and can we do it in style?” Outside of work, she's a big fan of crossword puzzles, learning new languages, and dumplings (both cooking and eating them).

Lola
Emotional Support
Lola keeps morale high as the MyALEXHealth team navigates the complexities of Medicare. She’s small but mighty at just 10 pounds, and is known for her underbite, questionable smarts, and selective loyalty. She’s sweet, mostly asleep, and would trade her favorite human in a heartbeat for a single bite of chicken.
"I have an idea..."
We're constantly improving ALEX to make sure it's everything it can be, so if you have any questions that haven't been answered, or ideas of how we can be more helpful, we want to hear them! (No really, we want to know the good, the bad, and everything in between. It's okay—we can take it.) Please send us a note by clicking the button below and we'll send you Lorna's famous Snickerdoodle recipe as a thank you.
